The biggest enemy is NYC is the pot holes, correct? As long as your coilovers are setup properly, most brands will hold up to the abuse.

What's your budget?

Strongly disagree. Potholes, high spring rates...bent rims, blown shocks, etc on way.

Why do you think you need coil-overs?

Have you searched or read any post on this subject?

Coilovers are good for those that track their cars and/or those that really have specific needs from their suspension. I'm not saying you NEED to track your car to appreciate a coilover. They definitely have some advantages. But they also have some disadvantages.

A good Bilstein + GTWORX or Bilstein + Swift setup with a few toppings is a very good all around set-up. Just depends on what you're looking for. I personally would stay away from a coilover if you're driving on NYC roads often.

Wouldn't consider coil-overs for a daily driver on the eastern seaboard. Road salt being one of the reasons. California or southern states are another story ...

You already got the best advice anyone on this forum could hope for. At this point you need to decide what it is that you want - do you want to be fast or do you want to look fast? If you want to look fast, doesn't matter what you buy; choose whatever appeals to you for any reason. Good luck.

This. This. This. This. Oh, that.

The line "possible track days" needs to be wiped from peoples minds. First off, track the car as-is. Then decide what it and you need.

I hear this (glorified for effect) "yo, I have 129812389 mods to my car. It's really fast, bro." Few laps on the track getting passed by a Focus, Miata, Civic...

"yo, I need more parts. Car is not fast enough."

Stop. Right. There.

You either actively track or actively talk about running on a track. Until you do - do not mod the damn car.

This comment should come out as a pop up for newbies to this forum when they click on the evo suspension forums...

Unfortunately too many younger kids out there think that throwing parts at a car will make it faster just because now its modded. When they arent happy with how fast they thought it should be they 'research' the next aftermarket part they think is the weak link and repeat the cycle.

For OP, the best upgrade if any would be to get a set of bilsteins on oem springs. The bilsteins will handle the bad roads a bit better than the oem kybs and improve handling as well. Im sure you will be very happy with this setup. Not only is it cheaper than coilovers but will ride better and be more durable than a price equivalent sent of coilovers.
