Yes, NY has a handful of tracks. Check out NASA NE for their track events. HPDE1 is great for instruction and safety on track.
Autocross more. Stop modifying the car until you know what it needs. And if wanting to complete...do not touch the car until you see the rules and know what class you want to run in.

Drummond motor sports coilovers hands down lol very worth the price if your looking into tracking often. But brakes should be your number one priority. Nothing like going into a corner and your pedal touching the floor with out even stoping.

Between $300 and $500 for a 2 day event. HPDE1 will have on track with full time instructor and classroom sessions. Then you start the ladder up to HPDE4 and then TT.
There is also COM up in NH/MA area.

If you decide to buy coilovers, I'm selling my Tanabe pro 7 with TEAS for a decent price than buying new. Check my signature. The control box adjust the dampening depending on your speed.
