need advice on tires pls
Conti DW
amazing in the wet, decent dry grip, i have over 20k on my tires & looks good @ 1.8*F/1.3*R camber @ Zero toe F/R
side walls are a bit compliant, but if your in NY, the roads are not the smoothest anyways, so these will aid in the DD part of things.

I am testing a set of DW right now too. Not a bad tire at all. GY Asy 2 is in the same market it it. Driven V12s too. If really a strict DD - I'd rock it for the price they are at.
how are the dw's compared to the star specs? i imagine better in the wet and not as good on dry surfaces? totally different categories?

Don't hold a candle to the Z1*s really (wet or dry). Different class of tires. Z1* are extreme "AX specials". DW are summer tires for wide use.
I've AX'd and tracked the Z1 and Z1* in the wet. Work very well.
RS3s in wet = scary.
XS = scary.
Another tire to look into is the Goodyear Asymmetric 2. I am run that as my race tire for TT my SVTF this season. Most current tire in terms of technology and compounds. OEM on Porsche as well.

What size would you run for the EVO8 BBS MR rims? TireRack only listed 235-45-17 and 245-40-17. I'm coming from the 255-40-17 Star specs which are worn out now. I'm leaning towards the 235-45-17 97Y version ( higher load capacity ) I do like that the weight is only 24 lbs on the Goodyears compared to the 28 lbs on the Starspecs ( 235/45 vs 255/40 )
Any idea of how long the softer compound on the Goodyears will last in relation to the StarSpecs?
Reason Im asking is the 255-40 Star specs are now $180 each vs the $150 for the Goodyears on TireRack and despite the really fantastic handling of the Star specs, its a stretch with money right now.
Suspension is MR Bilstein plus Swift Spec-R's, bushings + RSB.
