I called eshocks to find out where my fronts are and the guy said he has 16 sets on order. He said the ship date has slipped to July 8. Probably BS but he did say they get priority on Bilsteins and they usually get them first before other shops. Might be true because I called Allshocks and they said late August to get them. They had a shipment of Bilsteins in today but said he didn't think the Evo ones were on it....ffs

BTW. I purchased the Swift Sports anf Ralliart strut tops to go with the HD's. I also got new bumpstops and lower strut tops? The ones the spring sets in. Do the front HD's come with the rubber piece that goes inside the spring/strut or do I need to buy that? I didn't notice this piece on oemmitsuparts.

I ordered a set of Bilstein HD's from Tire Rack a few weeks ago and their ship date is supposed to be July 8th too. I hear it's worth the wait. I also went with the Swift SPEC-R's.

Direct from their website: Spec R springs are wound with the same engineering as our sports springs. With the exception of stiffer rates and slight change in ride height; you can expect the same characteristics as our sports springs.

On that same note, I'm assuming that if I'm getting springs for the Bilstein HDs, I should get the ones for the MRs?

The reason I ask, is b/c when I bought my SE, the previous owner already installed a set of Swift Sports on the stock KYB, I bought a set of Bilstein HDs, and without thinking about it, I swapped the Swift springs onto the Bilstein...

Hmm, that's interesting. I just saw in another thread where Smike commented that the Bilstein HDs should go with the GSR applications of the Swift springs as well, but if the Bilstein HD and Bilstein MRs are identical, why would the GSR application make sense?

Still new at the suspension setup, just trying to make sure it won't damage the struts on the car.

*Edit - I think I found the answer:

When I ordered mine from MAP I asked and they said to get the GSR springs as well. The Bilstein HD's and Bilstein MR's are not identical.

I got good and bad news today. My SPEC-R springs arrived at my house BUT I also got a call from Neil at Tire Rack saying that my Bilstein HD's (that were supposed to be here this week) are still backordered and not expected to arrive untl the end of August now.

Not quite... the HD rears look a little different at the bottom mounting point...and the valving is a little different

But yeah they look almost the same

Did you receive the shocks yet? I am considering ordering from them but would like some feedback first. Thanks.

I'm about to order GTWorks springs and HDs + need replacement strut tops (isolators). What's the deal with the so-called Ralliart strut tops? I thought that branch of Mitsu went out of business years ago... Also, the Bilsteins have internal bump stops. Is there a reason to still run the external bump stop too? If it helps with ramping the spring rate at the end of travel I can understand, but if not, you're probably just reducing available travel...

Not sure about the ralliart top hats but you definitely need to keep the external bump stops.
