"Black Diamond Finish"

What's up guys
So I'm looking into getting some BBS wheels for my Evo 8. Right now I'm riding the stock Enkeis, however I really like the BBS wheels from the MR SE the ones with the "black diamond finish" and since those are a little more rare I'm probably going to get the regular grey-ish BBS ones from the MR. So my question is can I get those powdercoated to get the diamond black finish look? or how would I go about this?

Thanks guys

Yes you should be able to as long as the place you have powder coat them has a similar color.

You will need to have the tires dismounted and then take them to a place that does powder coating. They will probably blast them to remove the current paint and clean them and then they will powder coat them. That should be about it.

No you cannot achieve that color with powdercoat. Its a 4 stage process and BBS wont and didnt release the info or process. TRUST ME, I tried and tried when I had this idea. You can paint them but it wont hold up like powdercoat will.

the BBS's are painted, and it's a primer, reflective or argent silver base, then a dark tint candy, then clear over top.

HOWEVER....

You can get them powdercoated to a very close match... there is a powdercoat supplier called "powder buy the pound" http://www.powderbuythepound.com that sells many versions of powder that are very close to the match of the MR BBS rims...

The Bonded Black Chrome seen here:

or the Bonded dark silver (it's a flash picture you can see here
http://www.powderbuythepound.com/BONDED_DARK_SILVER/

Look to be the closest... They have to have a clear coat powder sprayed over them, so it's a 2 stage powder coat job that any good powder coater can do.... and the powder is cheap from that website.
