Question Tein flex with EDFC

Hey guys I'm somewhat new to the Evo world and a few months a go when I bought my 8MR I researched for some good coilovers and like the teins with EDFC because I like that you could set ur damper force, so my question is what setting will feel the closest to stock(harder or softer)? I had the blitsen stock coils, what's recommended for a time attack at the track? Rally? Should i sell them and get something different? Just get springs? Thanks for all your help in the past I would just let my mechanic do the job cause of my lack of time but now I have the time to do it my self so I don't know what way to go thanks again!!!

I think you should spend some more time here and rear a bit.

Hints -- once you set the adjustments on a coil over...you don't fuss with then unless needed. EDFC is a gimmic in my book.

Experience level as a racer?

8MR is one of the best OEM suspensions.

So with that said, do you recommend me selling the teins and going back to stock? Other reason for tein was that I could change the height

Yes sell the teins quickly. then use the money to get either GTWorx or Swift Spec-r springs and a decent rear sway bar. Source a good adjustable rear sway 24-25 mm ( Whiteline, Progress, Hotchkiss )

Don t worry about the height. Use the stock Bilsteins if they are still good and pair them with either GTWorx springs or the Swift Spec-R's. Install the rear bar and put it on the middle setting.

Finally, get a good alignment from a competent shop that knows Evo's Specs should be zero toe all around -2 camber up front and -1 camber in rear.

Then enjoy the real upgrade you have just performed.

If you want the best out of the car after that, get some Rs3 or star specs in 255-40-17

Fallacy number 1 - once you set ride height...you do not change it. Changing any height requires a full alignment.

This. I prefer both front and rear bars.

A little firmer but overall very smooth and settled. Very good every day feel.

I agree Smike...front bar is a royal pain to install though.

I think we all need a driver mod first though before anything LOL

If you don't have track experience yet, then sloooow down. Don't worry about coilovers and especially don't worry about time attack.

Autocross the car, take the car to an HPDE event at the track, and learn learn learn. Get some good brake pads.

The set-up WRC-LVR recommended is a good all around system that handles really well and rides smooth. It's also easy to drive. BUT....if you're still learning, nothing wrong with trying an auto-x or two on a stock car.
