2006 evolution 9 mr dropped on tein springs. I just put on some te37 18x9.5+22 running 235/40/18 all around. So the problem is my driver side is rubbing agaisnt the fender and it seems like my driver side wheel isnt sitting in the center. My question is how do i get this fixed? i was doing some research and i read somewhere where they said that caster plates can adjust that and fix my issue, also a regular alignment might fix it. Any advice will help, thanks

What is the center bore dia on the wheels?

 

Those wheels need hub-centric rings to center it on the EVO hub

Make sure the rings are in there or you will need them. They come in plastic or the preferred alum. I believe the EVO hub is 67.1mm.

The wheel will have a larger bore that needs proper mating

 

Ok I will be buying the wheel bores. But why is it only the driver side? The other side is sitting perfectly in the middle. I'll try to take some pics to show better. Maybe I explained it bad

 

Hit any curbs? Something is likely bent if one wheel is farther back in the wheel well than the other.

 

Pics would be great. Maybe the wheel was centered on the studs better than the drivers side

These wheels are hub centered wheels not stud centered. They must be seated w/out slop on the hub bore

 

There is no way its off center that far if the lugs are tight. People make it sound like the world didnt turn before hub centric was introduced.

 

^^^Todays modern wheels hubs are designed to be carried by the axle hub / Not the studs!!!
You risk the chance of damaging the wheel stud holes over time

 

Thats all fine and dandy, but a lack of hubcentric rings wont move the wheel 1/2" back in the wheel well.

 

My car has the same problem. Previous owner dinked a curb, but the shop it was at didn't replace all of the control arms. My front drivers side wheel was about 1/2" closer to the sideskirt than the passenger side wheel. I replaced the LCA on the drivers side and it helped but it still rubs when turning the wheel all the way.

FWIW the hubcentric rings are missing on that wheel, I don't know if it will make up the difference in wheel position vs. the passenger side. I can fit 3 fingers with a little extra room to spare between the passenger tire and side skirt, on the drivers side 3 fingers barely fit.

My next best guess is bent subframe, or frame. The shop the previous owner had the car at said both were fine though. Soon as I get it back together I'm having everything checked out by someone who knows what they're doing.

 

I think you guys are right. I mis-read the OPs remarks. Sounds like a bent component or something you would see running a roll center kit on one side only LOL

I would check alignment and check caster, and camber settings.

i just checked the control arms earlier today. The control arms were replaced before since it has sharpie markings on it. The control isn't bent or anything though... so now im not even sure whats wrong with it. I will take pics tomorrow morning i forgot to take pics today.

 

Ge it on an alignment rack and see where caster is. It shiuld be right around 3.5 degrees. If its off, then you need a frame pull.
