Question Wheel Suggestions?

I have a 2003 Evo 8 and I am searching for wheels. I'm looking for a nice wheel that doesn't cost too much. I'm looking for about a 17x10 or 18x9.5 that I won't have to run spacers with, I am okay with fender rolling. Any suggestions?

Your best bet for a strong, solid wheel that isn't crazy expensive is gonna be enkei. the RPF1 is a really good wheel and is pretty popular on evo's. the 18x9.5 +38 is a good size. another popular enkei wheel used by a lot of evo owners is the NT03. Both the 18x9.5 +40 and 18x9.5 +27 fit the evo 8/9 really well. The best part is you can pick up a set of RPF1's or NT03's for around 1200 bucks. best bang for buck wheels on the market

Yeah Enkei is my go to, but would I need spacers for any of them?

I don't really mind them but i would want it even all the way around. I just don't really want to bother with them.

I'm with you on this for 2.5 reasons.

1. I already dislike dealing with the hub centric ring when I swap OEM rims (winter set up).
2. I was watching an endurance race where they forgot the spacer when changing tires/wheels and the wheels locked up on the caliper.
3. Possibly needing extended wheel studs. This actually may not be a bad thing since our cars are getting older. A new set of ARP extended studs may be good for us.

Good reasons to avoid spacers. With a 18x9.5 +27 you'll need a 10mm spacer at minimum to clear the brake caliper. I'd stick with stock offset wheels to avoid the things you mentioned.

I've been looking at the 18x9.5 +15 rpf1 I've heard they fit without spacers and gram light 57dr 18x9.5 +20.

you have already been told my top two choices, the rpf1s and nt03s. If I were getting 18x9.5 I would get the NT03s in +27 and run a 10mm spacer. I currently have the rpf1s in 17x9.5 +38 so I can run a larger tire with a 20mm spacer and autoX track and DD the car no problems.

17x9.5 +15 is the perfect wheel if you dont want spacers, be ready for some camber and fender work if you want to run a decent size tire, or go hellaflush. in which case you in the wrong section. plz see the "why driving my car off a cliff with me in it is better than being seen in this car" thread.

and plz dont buy rotas.

Gl and post up some pics

e_Kobz, stop giving out false information if you don't know the facts.

18x9.5 +38 RPF1 requires at minimum 18mm spacers to clear the front calipers. Rears will need rolling.

18x9.5 +27 NT03 requires minimum of 10mm spacers in front, and rear fenders rolled.

18x9.5 +40 NT03 requires minimum of 25mm spacers in front, front inner fender massaging, for clearance on full lock turns. Rears need to be rolled.

These are the minimum requirements for running 255 tires. Anything narrower is stupid, and anything wider is at user's risks, wants, and needs.
