Alignment Specs question

Got my alignment done today at a local alignment shop here in town because it's been due and the tires I just replaced were pretty worn on the inside of the fronts.

When I got to the shop I asked them if they had the specs and they said the did and that they were in the computer but I was concerned because it's a smaller shop and I had never done business with them. Once they finished the owner rang me up. They were very friendly and completed the job in a timely manner, however, when I checked the invoice I noticed they had my vehicle logged as a 2006 Lancer with the 2.4l sohc 16 valve motor. At this point I was like wtf and am now concerned that the specs of my suspension are now set to a base model lancer. If this is the case how much different are the specs and will I be damaging my suspension and or frame by driving it for today to go to work?

I am very concerned because I know they must be different and and now I am probably going to have the specs checked at another shop tomorrow.

You won't damage anything by driving it. Worst case you'll wear the tires a bit if the specs are really weird, but I would imagine not.

Did they give you the printout of the before/after of your alignment?

They did not and I didn't really mind too much because I knew it was probably out of alignment a good bit but after I checked the invoice on my way home I wish they would have. I asked him how bad it was and he said the fronts were out a good amount and the left rear was a little but that was as far as it went.

Do you think it would be worth another 30 to 70 dollars to have another shop check it?

If you're not doing ridiculous to-spec track alignments just get a lifetime alignment from Tires Plus/Firestone. They can be used at either since they're the same company. Then you know it's a reputable company too, and I can assure you they have the correct specs.

Hell, I've got a couple guys at a Tires Plus that'll do stuff to spec for me so I have one myself, already used it 4 times this year in dialing the setup.

You should call the shop and talk to them about it.
