Bilstein + Swift R Install Question
Bilstein + Swift R Install Question
I recently bought a set of bilstein HD's new and new Swift R springs, but them on the car and thought all was fine. Went to swap wheels one day and noticed the springs had been rubbing against each other causing the coating to peel off and rust. I also notice a popping sound from the front when going over speed bumps. I've only put about 500 miles on the springs in the last 8 months. Is part of the install wrong?
I've included photos below
As far as I can tell the swings all say swift in the correct direction, no upside down letters.
Any help would be great, thanks guys

the front springs is definitely not installed properly, the "butt" of the spring (end) should be pushed up against that ledge on the shock
rears look fine; that rubbing between the coils is inevitable and nothing to worry about

The bottom end of the front spring is hitting the notch on the bottom of the strut where it indents down

Does the picture make an optical illusion? The image of the bottom of the front strut sure looks like the spring sits on top of the "shelf" and it doesn't look like it coils back around to butt ends with the shelf
If you look closely you can see the coil and a dark mark where the rubber on the coil above it has been contacting. Do not worry about the spring coils contacting each other as that's how the spring was designed. The clunking over speed bumps problem can be many things and I would not instantly tie it to the spring install.
I was worried it had moved or something, but after looking it's still sitting in the correct place.
