i am thinking about getting TE37s with that curved look and I think the 8.5 width with +22mm offset looks like that...say if i run 245/40 tires, would I rub? What if 18x9.5 with +22mm and the same tires...rub? I plan on getting coilovers as well.

Putting a 245/40 on a 8.5" wide rim will rub. I have 8.5" CE-28's with a 30mm offset. I really can't help you on the custom offset your talking about, but I do know that a 245/40 will rub on a stock and lowered Evo.

If you go with a 8.5" wide wheel, buy at leat a 235/40. I just ordered 235/40 Kumho MX's for my CE's.
