Exclamation ROTA Group Buy

Ok, after initial talks with Subydude, he has expressed a interest in providing EVO owners with the correct wheel size and offsets for our cars.

What I need to know is how many members are interested in ROTA wheels for their cars? We are looking at 17x9 with 35 mm offset for the production first batch.

The two styles we are looking at is the new Torque and the Action.

The Torque is similar to the split spoke WORKS wheel, while the Action is similar to the 5 spoke Advan wheel.

Is anyone here interested in a group buy? Post here only if you are definately interested and are willing to pre-purchase once all the details are worked out.

Torque below:

Action below:

I would order and prepay for a set of Subzero's immediately if they were to become available. Any idea if the Subzero's may be produced in Evo sizes any time in the future? Any possibility of the Subzero's being substituted for one of the other choices?

Also, will the Torque's only be offered in silver and will the Action be offered in all of the colors available for the Suby's?

We were discussing the Torques instead of the Subzero as the Torque is a newer design.

Not sure about the Slipstreams as that wheel is designed more like the Spoon SW388 for Hondas. Not sure how it would look on a EVO.

Definately black wheels are in the works. I think the Torques or Actions in solid flat black would look great.

I'd like the Torques... Will they come in 17" and 18" sizes?
How much?
Thanks

I would be interested if the Torque wheel was made, it was less than $750 a set, was equal or lighter than the stock units and was available in a satin/flat black or the finish shown above.

I would not be interested at all in the Action wheel.

SC~

I know the Action is offered in gunmetal, would that color be available? If it will be, I would prepay for a set.

Would there be more interest in a 17 x 8? I don't want to buy tires now as well, but would be interested in the Torques or Actions in gm or black.

Actually, the 17 x 9 35mm offset sounds awfully good I'd prepay for a set as long as I can get them in silver or gunmetal and the price and weight are acceptable. I've owned Rota wheels in the past and I thoughgt the Circuit 8 15" wheels i had for my Miata were awesome, light and quite cheap price wise

I just noticed that you are talking about 9" wide. I'd only be interested in these if I were able to fit the stock tires. 8.5" max, but I'd really prefer 8".

The Torque's are a newer design than the Subzeros, but I think that everyone likes having an option of a polished lip, which isn't possible on the Torque.

Out of curiosity (and because SubyDude isn't answering my email), how many people would they need in order to make Subzeros in 17"x8"?

Well, the initial idea was to have the ROTAs come in 17x9. Why? Well, the stock wheels are 17x8, so from a performance perspective it makes more sense to upgrade to a size that will allow a larger more meaty contact patch. Not a much point in 17x8 unless you just want to make your car look "pretty".

Anyways, if the overwhelming majority wants 17x8, I would imagine that would be what is made in the first batch. I was thinking 17x9 would be more of a useful "upgrade" though....

You guys decide.
