Soooo spent so much time tuning my suspension setup and engine and aero that I never took the time to learn or test wheels and tires. I am building my Evo 8 for track in trying to fit the widest possible tire in the front and rear without going wide body for now. I just don't have the funds for a wide body. So I'm wondering what you guys and galls recommend for wheel and tire width, and I'm still new to this tire and wheel size and number thing so don't make fun of me when I ask "what wheel width is required for 275 tires. And on a stock Evo (yes I have the Evodave fender mod so I can fit 275's) what offset will I need for buying wheels? I don't want to use spacers for now because I am NOT going wide body yet. Please help. I need to know what wheel width I'll need for 275's and what offset or inset what ever you call it, I'll need for the wheels. Thanks!

R/Ternie fit 295/30/18 tires on his stock body Evo IX. So you can definitely go wider, just more work to be done. For your setup just run RPF1's, 18x10 +38 with a 20mm spacer up front with extended studs. For the rear roll rhe fenders and run a 5mm spacer so you can clear the trailing arm.

Read through this thread. It contains some good info on running the wide rim (10" & above)

I run a 275/40 on a 17x9.5 +30 wheel

so if I ran say some ssr gtv02s with 50+ offset in the front and a 38+ offset in the rear I would be good?

I doubt anything +50 offset would clear the brembos. That's why guys with 18x10 +38 use a 20mm spacer to make it a 18x10 +18

Haha and this is why I ask because I don't really know how the whole offset thing works.. So the smaller the number the higher the offset?
