Just wondering if anyone has good results by doing their own wheel alignments?

What I'd like to know is how you get enough clearance under the car to use two sets of ratchets on rear adjustments?
Even with my own 4 post and older hunter system, it was super easy to change rear toe or camber by quite a bit, just during
tightening (see cam in first pic, how do you get to that when most of us lower our cars).

I ended up using two long breaker bar, so I could tighten the cam and hold it very firmly at the same time.
I'd think you would need at least a foot or two under the car to adjust the rear with any consistancy. 2nd pic shows
about as low as I could go and still have room to tighten cams.

The other thing I'm not sure you can do with strings is measure thrust angle, but I have not looked long and
hard at the string method.

And those alignment systems are not as bad as you would think. I called my local hunter rep and waited.
He found one from a mercedes dealer that was forced to upgrade. Not much use, and since he got it for
almost nothing, he gave it to me for 2 grand (and he included rear slider plates and tire clamps).
added E-bay turntables for another $300 and some cheap flat screen monitor I got for $20.
Compared to the amount of money we sink into these cars, it was worth it to me
to be able to do my own easily.

Wish I had something like that I ended up getting a Magnetic camber guage off Amazon and a Longacre LON52-79501 Toe-In Plate setup... cost me about $70 for both. I'm still going to get my alignment checked but is a good temporary solution in the mean time.

Yeah. I did all mine for years with a JC whitney toe and camber guage,
but everything I owned was solid rear axle until my first talon.

Never messed with suspension on that, so never did
get it aligned. Besides trucks and lifts, this is actually the first time
changing springs from stock, on any of my cars.

Ive done strings for like 15 years for alignments. I do need a proper caster gauge, but camber and toe are pretty easy to set.

Ive done 3 string alignments before. 2 were just to get the car to the shop to ge a real alignment ( swapped suspension parts) and one was on my Dakota RT. ive only adjusted toe but on my Dakota I rolled 3 years on the string alignment. Super easy!!!
