caliper rubs on rotors only on passenger outter side. pads still good. everything seems tight. could it be the piston? or piston boot?

What rotor part no. was installed? Assuming this is an EvO 8/9?

A little more info would be helpful. Was this rotor just installed? Whats the other side look like?

Both sides Driver / Pass? Brakes worn? dislodged? Pad pins not engaged? Caliper loose?

Just the passenger side. I tried shaking the calipers but its on tight. Pads going in more than it suppose to that cause the touching of caliper and rotor. Guide pins looks straight. When i step on the brakes its fine but when i let go, it stratches the caliper

Interesting! Well, sounds like the rotor spec is proper (proving both sides are the same?). Wonder if the Pass side brake pad is out of spec or damaged? I would have thought the pins would keep it from dropping down.
Have you tried loading in a new set of pads? That rotor looks damage beyond repair.

I would order up a pair of Centric rotors & some Stop Tech Street Perf pads ASAP

Heres an example: https://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brak...6&autoModClar=

I had a similar issue in the past (on another car), a tiny stone came within the pad and rotor while I was braking and remained stuck to the pad. time passed and after some time I had a similarly damaged rotor.

If the two outside piston are stuck (wet fluid) could the inside pistons flex the rotor?

Only when i press the brake pedal. But i think thats what happened. Pedal feels soft so i would have to pump ar least twice for a firm brake. Fluid is full but maybe theres air bubble in there. Should i just change the piston seals and brake flush? Imma gonna fix sometimes this weekend

To check for frozen pistons, remove the master cylinder fill cap, pull the pads and see if you can lever the pistons into their bores. I just use the pad itself as a lever and my fingers. The pistons should move without a lot of effort.

my bet is something not right on that side....
maybe the pad hung up on a shim or a stay.
maybe a rock...

maybe a stuck piston...

Finally got to look more into it. It was the hub bearings! Failed the wiggle test but I swear it wasnt like this before. Not normally the symptom i would think of but replaced both side and its running good now.
