Changing pads at 10k - resurface?
Changing pads at 10k - resurface?
All,
Since I have boiled my fluid twice, and undoubtedly glazed the pads, I am changing to a set of Panther Plus pads on the front and Super Blue fluid. The car has 10k miles on it and has seen about 4 track days.
I'm pretty sure the rotors have not warped, as I have no perceptible pulsing through the pedal. However, when running my fingers from the center to the outer circumference of the rotors, I can feel (and see) significant circumferential grooves and waves. Probably more so than I noted on my WRX at 30k miles.
My question is, how much braking performance will this be costing me when I fit the new pads? Would it be of significant benefit to have the rotor surfaces machined prior to fitting the new pads?
I would be happy to replace the rotors with the next pad change, but would prefer not to have to do so every 10k miles.
Thanks for your advice.
