Need some advice/suggestion on time attack/road race setup?

Hey quick question about picking spring rates for my setup? Im planning to go with FEAL 441+ with swift springs and revalve for whatever rates I plan to run. I plan on sticking with any 255/40/18 ultra summer sticky tires. I don't plan on going R-Compounds. I've been hearing EVO's like more spring rate in the rear or at least even F/R. What is the normal recommendation for rates with those size tires. I have been thinking 10k/10k or maybe 9k/10k?

Modifcations:
-white line roll center kit
-whiteline rear 24 adjustable bar
-rear diff oem restack
-e85 stock turbo 390whp/330tq
-Advan rz2 wheels 18x9

Looks like youre on the right track @blkct9 . Theres a few of us on Feals. Great to see they re-valve per spring rate unlike the off the shelves' most brag about. I too run a coilover that was specifically tuned for my Swift sprung 10K/12K track day set up (WL 24mm bar & a few other suspension bits)

What type of tires and tire size did you use for the 10k/12k? Do you have the rear diff restacked. It made such a big difference in understeer more then sway bars did for me. I had to reduce the sway bar adjustment. I no longer had throttle on understeer. Rotation was very smooth and linear, it felt better to not rely on the sway bar to help with rotation and added more grip to the rear with the "correct diff plate arrangement"

No, did not do the re-stack (should have though). With the WL24mm in the middle hole, it was a bit too oversteery for me. Moved the rear bar to the full soft hole. Use to run 255/40 Nitto NT01's on the track. Now i just street drive Federal 265/40's

Thank you for your input, ohh ok i see you were running R compounds hence why those higher rates would be ok.

Buzzing around the street on 10K/12K is totally OK w/me & im over 50 years old (i can take it LOL). It rides stiff but super compliant over any of the street irregularities. You should see me fly over the RR tracks near my pad (no issues). Would pick that rate again if i were to buy new C/o'rs

10kf/12kr is the standard unless running a slick.
I've been running 8/10 and 9/11 because I like the amount of body roll but plan to try 10/12 next.
10/12 is a really good starting point, then you can adjust from there if you are super serious and trying to eek out a few 1/10s

Would 10k 12k over power extreme/ultra summer tires, as I don't plan on using r comps. I would like to just stick to one spring rate choice and not have to change it.

It's the standard rate for pretty much all Evos not running slicks, meaning all other tires.

Thank you guys, my two choices are definetly going to be 10/12 or 9/11. I may use the rear bar to adjust the roll or balance if needed if i end up with the slightly softer spring rate.

The springs will control roll fine, either way. Use the bar to get the car to rotate.

What is the go-to coilover set up for a street (1st)/ track (2nd) car? Still Ohlins or...?

Ohlins is still, arguably, the best coilover in its price range and possibly even a bit higher. Their damping is EXCELLENT for the street while still outperforming most on track.
Fortune Auto makes a great track coilover, just not as comfortable for a daily driver.
if you're going to drive on the street often, try to swing the Ohlins. Otherwise I like the FA if it saves me a few $$$s

Ohlins have been BY FAR the best do-it-all-well coilover I have used personally. My only regret is that it took me so long to finally move to them.

I have Ohlins on my mostly street car. They are amazing coilovers and far more comfortable than the FA500 cars I have ridden in. So I'll third what the other guys said, swing for them if you can.
