Bridgestone RE-71R Replacement

Any one know when these may be released? Look very promising.

Theres been no word so far....Ive beeen waiting too, my RE11s are finally corded so was waiting to see if Bridgestone announced the replacement before I pull the trigger on a new set. Kills me as the EVO has been sitting for a month now...I think the rubber shortage is probably having an affect on release dates as well as supply, etc.

The successor is RE-71RS and have been out in Japan and other part of Asia for 2 years or so
No idea as to when US will receive it

So talked to my wholesale contact at Tire Rack who also happens to be an enthusiast. He said someone did some testing (here in the states) on the RE-71RS and it was actually slower in testing than the RE-71R so Bridgestone is now trying to revise the compound some and try again. That said, don't expect a RE-71R replacement until some time next year as at this point the window is closed for introducing those type of tires (something with having to do with getting SCCA class approval since most buyers are in competitive auto-X)

I can order those over here in Au, there's a test you can read, they say 5% harder wearing, so they probably have tweaked the compound
