Question EBC pads

I went to ebc brakes and there is a kit for my lancer Evo 7 = Evo 8 the part number is: DP31210

1- Is EBC a good brake pad?

2- When I ask for that part number Do I have to specify green or red stuff? if yes...

3- Which should I buy, green or red?

Obs: street/road driving with some 140mph road speeds

When the stock pads wore out, ones which I believe are made by brembo, I picked up a set of EBC Greens. I've been neither overly pleased nor greatly displeased which means they're essentially a cheap serviceable replacement for the OEM pads. They dust a lot less and seem to be slightly more susceptible to heat fade although for average street driving they seem more then sufficient. Finally, as far as pad life, I've had them installed for about 3500 miles now and they seem to be wearing pretty well. If you can live with a little noise I'd look into Ferodo's DS2500s, a little pricier then the EBCs but I've seen far more favorable reviews overall. I guess it all comes down to what your focus is with the car, personally I feel the EBC pads are a comprimise on an exceptional stock braking system, much like almost any other tire then the A0-46 is a comprimise in handling.

I agree...I've used EBC Green's and they arent bad, but arent great either. If you are looking for a decent replacement, you wont go wrong. I also agree that they put off virtually no dust so thats always a plus. If you autocross or race some other way, then they arent the best, but for the street, they work well.

Thank you for your information.

Did you buy DP31210?
Is there a possibility to buy the red stuff instead of the green?

Not sure about the number, because I used them on an Eclipse so they would be different. I believe that the red stuff are more racing pads. Hopefully someone on here can go further into it than I can.

As 2G said the Red Stuff's are designed as more of a track compound. Haven't tested them so I can't comment on their streetability/longevity under daily use. That part # does look familiar, I bought mine months back though so I can't confirm it at the moment. I have the box in my garage though so I'll try to PM you to confirm the part number sometime tommorow.
