Wheel Repair
This is slightly off topic, but my fiancee's Ford Focus has a flattened part on one wheel. It's the alloy wheels, not steelies. The tire is still holding air and I drove it last night (before I noticed this) and it rides fine.
She's calling to angle for a warranty replacement because the rubber is not damaged at all. I'd imagine a pothole that could bend the rim should do somethign to the tire, but it looks fine.
I already know that a replacement wheel is going to be expensive (good ole' OEM), but I'm wondering if an alloy wheel can be repaired?
I've seen ads for places that fix rims, but has anyone had experience with them? Can a place like NTB do it?
All help is appreciated. Right now that road / wheel hazard insurance I got with my EVO is looking good. Stupid DC potholes
Thanks,
a

Wheels can be repaired depending on the extent of damage. However, the spot thats repaired will then be the weakest part of the wheel. Sometimes the repair on a wheel can cost almost as much as a new wheel after freight, labor, etc. Combine cost with the fact that wheel now has a weak spot and its probably worth buying a new one.
get in touch with wheel collision in Bath Pennsylvania...
they do have a cheezy website (personal opinion) but they do excellent work. I've taken my bent or scraped wheels there before and they have come out looking new many times.
the website might be www.wheelcollision.com
