Help! Yoko advan - what does the "SL" stand for?

In the Load rating 93W SL, what does the SL mean? Thanks in advance. I'm trying to match my Z rated Nitto Extreme's (555) and get the same characteristics that I had out of the Advan...

That means Standard Load. Basically, the tire has a normal internal construction. Its not XL (extra load) or LT (light truck) rated.

Thanks. HOw do I compensate for the Nitto's softer sidewall where otherwise it also boasts:

93 W load rating
1433lbs max load
44 psi max

The car "grips" better with the Nitto's, but steering response is worse and cornering speeds are worse with the Nitto due to the softer sidewall. I'm hypothesizing that if I give the front tires some more psi this will compensate for these variables. Question is: how much psi to put in. Any suggestions?
Much appreciated.

Max inflation pressure can differ depending on the type of tire it is. Theres P metric (ex P235/45-17) and Eurometric (ex 235/45-17). Euro metric and P-metric tires in the same size are equivalent in their dimensions with just slight differences in their load capacity calculations and inflation pressure tables. So if Euro metric and P-metric tires have the same numeric size, the same tire performance category and the same speed rating, the two are considered equivalent and interchangeable if used in axle pairs or sets of four.

Its ok to play with the pressures to tune the ride or handling of the car. However, I would not exceed the max pressure of the tire at any time.

dont get nittos and hope to acheive the same handling/grip characteristics of the Advans. leave the nittos to the bouncing civics with the black painted rims, since that what they are designed and marketed to. go for some higher quality BFG's or other yokahama's
