Question Disks / Rotors?

Does anybody on this board have a suggestion (polite!), as to where I might find a U.S. source for replacement disks? Stock Brembos (For my evo 5 GSR).

Two piece would be desirable but not essential.

Cheers!

Hey Braf

I haven't looked into Brembo and Evo parst dealers in the U.S. yet. I was considering just ordering from co-ordsport and taking the shipping hit, unless it was completely ridiculous. You may want to take a look at this thread:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&threadid=3064

It has web pages and many links for dealers in Evo parts, some in the U.S. Sorry that I can give only this vague pointer, but hopefully it is a starting point!!

Thanks PToast,

I imagine things will improve quickly in this regard when the Evo hits the U.S.A.

Yeah, definitely. I mean the only way you could get an Evo in u.s. was to get it on a 'racing only' basis, so the only place to get Evo-specific parts domestically was to be in contact with a larger race or rally team. Hardly a great way of getting parts.

It has been my home since the first time I heard 276HP, turbo, AWD, under30k, coming to US. That was in the begining of May.

braf, my evo V came with mustang cobra rotors. the guy who owned it before me bought them and machined them down a bit. they are very close in size. the cobra rotors will save you a lot of money too. I don't know the details in machining them down, but I hope this helps a bit. for pads, I just picked up some Hawke Blues for the 911 turbo (big red) they fit perfectly and they bite real hard!

found the info:

Mustang Cobra brake rotors on the front of the car.
They are 4mm thicker (28mm vs. 24mm) and way cheaper
here in the US. You just have to have a shop machine
down the OD to 320mm from 330mm.

don't know about the rear disks. hope that helps!

Any chance I could get a picture of the rotors and pads? This seems too good to be true!
