Replacement tires in SoCal?

I've read most all of these threads on tires, but most are considering wet/snow conditions. I'm in LA, which sees very little of both, 0% snow obviously.

I am looking for something much cheaper than the Advans, and certainly something that will last much longer. I'd like to keep the grip, or close there to the Advans, and I'm used to the noise so that's not much of a factor. The Advans have given me 12.5k so far, and I figure to maybe get 15k out of them, so I don't abuse them too hard and never go to the track.

From what I've seen, I like the AVS ES100's, Potenza RE750's, maybe the F1GS-D3's, and the Toyo T1-S's. The F1GS's seem more accustomed to the wet, so that's why I'm unsure about those. And although I'm interested in the Toyo's, don't let that stop anyone from TireRack (Neal) from responding. I'd like any feedback on any of the above tires, as well assuggestions on any other tires based on my location, drving style, and treadlife.

Thanks in advance.

The ES100's and RE750's wont provide the dry weather handling or steering response like the Advan will. However, they will ride quieter and last a bit longer. The GS-D3's and Michelin Pilot Sport PS-2 would be the closest in handling characteristics to the Advan. You will probably see around 25K in the ES100 and RE750, or around 20K with the GS or PS2. If you want more tread life the RE750 would be my pick. If handling was your main interest, you cant go wrong with either the GSD3 or PS2.

Just an update on this old thread. I bought the RE750's 2.3 years ago and have gotten 40k miles out of them. Absolutely perfect treadware. They are almost slicks now and I will miss that traction for a while. But with the rainy season coming I would have been toast. I just got new RE750's again from Tirerack.

Also got some RPF1's (17.8.5).
