Ok, here is the deal. I am probally getting 17x9 wheels with 35mm offset. Tires will be Azenis 245/45/17.

I want to lower the car just a bit. I am NOT concerned with ride comfort. I AM concerned with handling improvement and quality (For example: rubbing issues and/or ghetto bounciness).

I am considering Tanabe GF210.

Does anyone here predict any rubbing issues with this setup? Has this setup been done before?

I would say they are the best springs out there.....but if you want real handleing get coilovers.
There are alot of trade offs when you go with springs, such as lack luster turn in, a bit of numbness etc.
You will get less roll however and they dampen pretty nice.
I have had them on my car for a while now. Also I have blown 1 of my struts. Unsure if the springs contributed to this or my maniacal mountain excursions on the weekends...or both.
If you can dont waste your time with springs if you are into performance.
If it was for looks then ya go for springs

Btw I am not a expert but I have some experience

It should fit. IMHO, I would go with a 255 sized tire unless money is an issue. I currently run the 245/45/17 on the stock rim & suspension with no rubbing.

You might need coilovers to fit the 17x9 (maybe someone can chime in who knows for sure)

I would highly recommend coilovers. Do a search to find what's available.

Oh yeah, be careful about choosing rims. not all of them clear the front calipers. Again, do a search, there are many good threads on this issue.

Yeah, I know the wheels clear the calipers. Several folks have bought this wheel in this size/offset. 17x9 FN01RC 35mm offset with 245/45/17 tires.

Thing is I dont think any of them have installed Tanabe GF210 or similar springs. I might not even get springs at all and just leave the suspension stock.

I wanted to hear from those who have experience with this (or a similar) setup.

Don't waste your time with buying springs. None actually improve your handling by any measurable amount. The correct way to close the gap in the wheel wells is to buy coilovers.

you will also need coilovers to fit the rims. I don't think you have the room otherwise unless you want to run spacers. I have a set of 17x9 rims ready to go and I have about 3mm clearance bewteen the front coilover and tire (275/40/17 R-compound) and that is using a spacer for extra clearance.

IMHO, if you go with a 255 (or smaller) and coilovers you should have enough room to exclude the spacer, but any larger tire size and your going to either need different offsets rims in the front and rear or just use spacers on the front.

I don't know if the 17x9 rim will clear the stock strut. I don't think it will without camber plates. At that point you have to ask yourself about getting coilovers

I agree I have the Tanabe and I bottom them out. I would reconmend the coil overs. although I love the way the car sits with them on.
