Anti-Lift Kits Perrin vs. Whiteline in Street Mod
 

Does anyone have experience-based input on these parts for an SM autocrosser?

My '03 is lowered on KW V3s with Whiteline's roll center and steering precision kit. My alignment tech told me the ball joints were just starting to go and then my Mitsu tech showed me the front inner bushings of the front, LCAs were sloppy. He didn't think the ball joints were a problem. Anyway...

Does anyone have pros and cons for these two parts? I like Whiteline more than Perrin, but I do want the right part. I know Robi recommends the Perrin part.

Also, the third mounting point, inner rear of the front LCA - does it need a replacement? If so, does anyone have a recommendation?

The car has 78K on the clock with a preponderous majority of interstate and highway miles and a couple of years of autocross. It's now being stored in the winters and will be a dedicated autocrosser with hopes of getting to some road courses soon.

Lastly, in using a caster-changing setup, what is recommended for alignment specs? Camber of -2.8/-1.8 f2r with zero toe and OEM range caster has been my setup to-date.

The Whiteline part is relatively new for the EVO. I don't know of anyone that has it yet.

WL is the "innovator" of the part for Subaru for whatever that's worth. I don't know the numbers on how much caster it adds for EVO, but I can send an email out to Australia tomorrow if you like.

Both will make a pretty darn positive change in handling and in theory should make the street ride a bit harsher (though I haven't heard anyone complain yet).

Thank you for your perspective. I can contact Whiteline directly myself but appreciate your offer. At $271/set for these I may just do the sloppy front LCA's inner front bushing for now. Cash is tight.

use the perrin kit as the whiteline kit is only a solid bearing style, no anti lift as it dosnt change the goemetry,same mounting point, where as the perrin lowers the rear of the arm that will give some anti lift.

The offset you see in that picture is not the anti-lift feature. Moving the arm pivot away from center horizontally changes the caster by pivoting the balljoint forward.

It doesn't look like the whiteline has as much offset to me on caster as the Perrin.

Anti-lift is the vertical displacement of the pivot point and I don't see how the Whiteline deals with it. The Perrin uses a set of spacers that lets you select if there is or is not anti-lift added. The whiteline may just have a set amount built into it.

My concern is anti-lift/dive is a topic of debate. Depending on who you ask, it can be a good or bad thing. I still haven't decided if I am going to center up my Perrin or if I will set it up for anti-lift.

no, the anti lift comes from moving the rear of the lca down to a flat position, moving the rear of the arm in a horizontal plane will only ever give you positive or negative caster, this has no bearing on anti or pro lift.

regardless of whitelines advertising there kit will never give anti lift as the mounting point is in the same as the stock bush only 20mins more caster.

we will only use the perrin kit in all of our race and tarmac cars for the antilift and more caster it provides over the whiteline kit.

we have tested both kits back to back.

Is the anti-lift feature of the Perrin a noticeable difference? Does it end up inducing a noticeable amount more dive under braking?
