how to remove pad deposits from the rotor ?
 
have seen quite a bit of posts that say rotors do not warp, they just have uneven pad deposits that cause vibrations when breaking

my car acts the same and I'm not quite positive to turn the rotors and remove some life from them. so is there any DIY way to clean rotors ? will sandpaper do the job ?

it began when I braked hard from ~110mph an experienced so called break fade. after that every time my brakes get slightly hot it vibrates when stopping from ~60 mph

Two peice rotors dont warp. One peice may.

any rotor or friction ring that gets really hot then cooled really fast can warp.

**edit: the remainder of "warped" rotors are uneven pad deposits.

Two different materials hat vs ring expanding at different rates allows for some "give" where as a one piece must expand uniformly or suffer from warp.

Op ive been there.inspect your rotor surface from both sides first. Are they evenly flat or one side is more rough then other.the reason is if wear is uneven it might be your caliper pistons not clamping evenly.in my situation i had to purchase caliper seals from rock auto.thanks to our friend cfdfireman1 here :)

i have a deglazing wheel. it looks like a ball cylinder hone. anything that can sand the surface would work, as long as it's not so aggressive that it can make the surface uneven. brembo rotors are pretty hard so that helps.

is it acceptable to leave old pads after turning or cleaning the rotors ?

or the new pads are mandatory

As long as the pads are in good shape, you should be fine.
