Carbon Fiber Seat Inserts
 

Does anyone know where i can buy carbon fiber inserts for the stock recaro seats?

For the harness loops? I was wondering this the first time I saw the seats.

Yeh for the harness loops. I can't stand the oem plastic things.

if there's enough interest i'm sure rexspeed would consider designing these.

Well I hope REXPEED is reading this, becuase I would definitely buy these, I can't stand the fake carbon in the evo and the seat harness slots really look cheap on the Recaro's.

Does anyone know if they are real CF on the leather seats? They still look fake in the images I see of the FQ-400 seats although the seats look awesome, but it looks like the shift boot is actually leather in the images rather than the crappy fake leather boot. Just wondering because I know different markets get different ( better ) features.

Visit compositeenvisions.com and buy a CF wrapping kit and wrap em yourself. They have good prices and all kinds of colors for resins and fabric. That's my plan whenever I can find the time to do it. They're easy to take out and shouldn't be too hard to wrap em.

i'd be interested, the fake carbon on those is worse than the fake carbon on the dash

I've tried wrapping them already and the outer parts turned out ok but the insides of the loops are hard to get at. It's better than the plastic fake carbon look tho.

If you do make em, post it somewhere obvious! Wanna get rid of the ugly stock ones and would definitely pay for some if it means not having to wrap em myself. I'm sure i'm not the only one.

Did you use the vinyl? How the heck were you able to stretch it that much?

Yeh i used the cf fabric. Its not that stretched actually. i just laid it over the pieces and cut out the center parts....which is why the insides of the loops look kinda ****ty upclose.

+3 I have them wrapped in cf fabric for the moment.

This is a great idea, I'd love to get some real CF to replace that fake shut.

Agreed. I like how the door trims matches the dash trim. Rexpeed makes the dash trim but its a shame they don't make the door trim too for the complete matching set.

But this is getting off topic... Bring on the seat inserts! mystotic-racing, think its do-able?

imagine that, an evo owner that doesnt like something calling it rice. gotta love the interent, join 2 months ago and start criticizing others tastes.

personally i dont like the look of FAKE carbon fiber that comes in the X. i would gladly have it swapped out for real carbon fiber or even just some plain colored plastic pieces. just my opinon though.

$250-$260 is a bit too pricey. If more people buy into this and the price gets under $200, I might be interested.

When for the Deposits? I am not getting any replies via PM. I understand the New Year messed up a lot of stuff, it did for me for a lot of orders but I just want to give you a deposit , I have other stuff I want to get and by giving you a deposit it allows me to allocate my money where needed.

This thread has remained in the EvoX How Tos /Installations for its entirety. It has nothing to do with installation but has turned into a proposed new product that has a considerable desire from users to finally go to production.

The proposed vendor for this product is an approved vendor and I have purchased from them before.

I can only conclude that the main reason there is not enough interest to get the final deposit to get the ball rolling is that this thread is located in the wrong section.

I should let the seller respond to this but I want to get this rolling. It is for all 4 pieces and you do not need to send it in.

His deposit is $40

The final price he jacked but that was because he didn't have the 15 people that he wanted. I am hoping that since this has been moved to the proper section it will get the interest do and go back to a slightly expensive but more realistic price.

You can look at the earlier post and he does a break down of the final pricing based on how many people are purchasing them for this group buy.
