Evo 10 + 100oct

Retuned a Evo 10 on 100oct Saturday.

Only mods are:

Drop-in Filter
GST boost assembly
Test pipe
Modded stock exhaust catback (cut out internal pipe and flapper)

+30whp / +36wtq over 91 oct

329whp / 336wtq on 100oct

Boost peak 28psi, dropping to 20psi at 7200 (91oct was 25psi peak)

Not bad for looking 100% stock and barely louder than stock.

I like the barely louder than stock part. I was trying to decide between test pipe and cat-back. Swapping out every year to test seems kind of no fun, but you can't argue with that power and torque.

Yes he tracks the car and yes I imagine he will be using the 100 oct tune for track now.

the real question is what is the effective octane of E85?

E85 is said to be 105 octane however it doesn't tell the whole story of how the fuel performs. We have seen E85 make more power than 110 leaded race gas.

It will for sure make more power than the 100 oct this Evo 10 was tuned on.

May I ask why you brought up E85 in this thread?

FYI we are tuning a Evo 10 on E85 tomorrow.
