2008 MR 293hp / 309ft-lbs Tuned by HiBoost

I figured I'd post my results from the other night. I drove my car to STM the other night and had HiBoost tune my car. This is my DD so we both wanted this tune to be conservative for the engine and SST. I have to say the results were very positive. I met Emery for the first time and his crew. Some good guys with a lot of enthusiasm about our cars. Some back ground on my car. K&N intake and UICP, AMS DP & Test pipe, Flowmaster CBE. Car was tuned on stock BC and Intercooler. The first graph show stock vs. final. BTW all graphs are with the bolt ons. The second graph shows what adding 2 degrees of timing gave the car. That is the final graph. I'm very happy with the results Chris was able to dial in especially the AFR. As most of you are aware a tune really does wake these cars up. Chris did a phenomenal job. We ran into a couple hiccups that made it a late night but that's the nature of the beast. I couldn't be happier and look forward to dealing with all of them for my future needs!!

Good to hear the MR is driving smooth and fast after the tune! Honestly the stock plot was absolutely horrible with those basic mods. AFR's were in the low 10's and the boost would spike to 26 psi and then panic trying to reduce it and overreact by dropping boost to low 20's. I still had a slight boost spike with the stock BCS but as you can see it was smooth otherwise and I intentially kept the boost in check between 3500 and 5000 for SST longevity.

The hiccups he was reffering to were that the ECU claimed it was "locked" from the previous owner. Sometimes that can occur if they yank an accessport or similar improperly. I was considering just trying to write over a stock ROM on the spot but decided to drive home and get my wiring harness in case I had to bench the ECU, which we did. Once we actually started tuning it was 8 runs in 2.5 hrs before we had the final tune.

This car seemed to really like timing and after getting the boost and AFR's to where I wanted them, I saw good gains across the RPM range by adding +1 timing per burn. Even though there was no knock I decided that we would leave it where it was to have some cushion. I also applied all my MR tuning tricks so that shifting and the ECU were going to be happy with the new found power.
