Akuma Motorsports Tune
2011 Evo X GSR
Power mods: K&N intake & UICP, ETS test pipe and V2 exhaust
Just had some basic bolt ons (though minus a down pipe) but made some great power with John's tune. Given that I'm new to the Evo game, more specifically boosted cars, I wanted to take a conservative approach with the power gains. I'm looking to improve on my driving and get more involved with the time attack and autocross scene. I wanted to take a gradual approach on the power increase to maintain reliability and gain a true appreciation for the Evo's responsiveness to mods. It's all about the baby steps! Besides what's power if you don't learn how to control it.
I've yet to really take John's tune through its paces, and we'll see how the car and my driving will do in the months to come, but I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Modest set of mods with outstanding results.
I had expected 285hp & 300ft/lbs of torque but :::drum roll:::
ended up with a 300hp & 311/ftlbs of torque.
This was my first tuning experience ever and I'm very impressed with Akuma's customer service and their attention to detail. I'm looking to have a long term relationship with this company as I continue to build my Evo.
Thank you Akuma!

Thanks dude. 3-port is definitely my next move, along with a DP. Good numbers on your dyno results btw.

Thanks man, I should have specified on that post a bit more but that dyno sheet is an example from the Brian Crower website to illustrate the gains after installing their cams. Im actually working on an FP Red set up at the moment. But I'm sure you will enjoy those next two mods and get retuned and post up some more numbers for us!

It looks nice but I think the gains are a little low for the mods.
Your mods and mine are about the same so you should be able to hit the numbers I'm at because we both are on the same 23PSI boost curve.
May be a 3port will help your gains but I still think they should be higher.
My car was hitting those numbers on my base run with only:
UICP, HKS Panel, Invidia n1 single cat back, grim 3port, and GFB BOV.
Every thing else is stock.
Base was before 3port and tune 289 hp 302 tq.
With added 3port and tune 337 hp 320 tq
So with your intake and test pipe you should be getting more results then mine.
I would get a 3 port and retune to make the most out of your setup.

Just saw it the dyno is a mustang so the numbers are lower.
But yeah like they said get a 3port see how your boost tappers down near the end of the run with a 3port it will stay solid giving better responce and boost hold through the range.
Good luck and great looking car.

Thanks guys!
Michael, you've got some awesome products man. Kudos to your craftsmanship. My next move will definitely be that DP, which would complete my ETS exhaust setup. Remember when I posted that video on your wall during my snow session? I was running untuned then but now I'm really putting your parts to good use!
