BeaterX hits MAP's DynoJet with an EF4: 599whp

Ran the car at our MitsuStyle.com Fall Dyno day last weekend. Story of my life, car is down a bit on power....I turned the MBC up but forgot to adjust the error correction so WGDC got pulled to 30% up top, so 35psi taper to 30@8000.

I've done VDR pulls up to 630whp but that was months ago, different weather, etc...who knows. Car is fun as hell though! Enjoy.

I'm guessing your downpipe dumps into the atmosphere. Looks like you had a pretty good spark behind the turbo! Good Numbers and congrats on saving the Evo from the previous owner. Can't really call her a Beater X anymore!

Sure can, I drive it every day and it gets washed once every few months at best :). Winter included!

Ya someone else pointed out that flash to me as well...I have a recirculated downpipe so I'm not sure if it's the breather, a leaky gasket, etc. I'll check my turbo-to-manifold bolts.

is the FiD tubular full equal length? and any reason you ended up using that over the MAP one?

devsol Oct 24, 2012 09:08 AM

great power

It's kinda a long story but if you search you should be able to find more info. I, happy with it.

Grats scheides, glad your car is running strong! I rarely post up stuff on this site and was disappointed with my **** so didn't feel like it, but now seeing you posting your stuff I feel giddy a bit ;)

TnC time dude! Spring cruise! Then drinking galore!

Lol I just moved back from Arizona around 3 weeks ago which is right when I joined the EvoMN so it kinda slipped my mind lol. Oh well, I'm sure there will be another event coming up soon enough.

Nice to see it holding together at 600 whp. How long have you been running the non-e85 Walbro 400 on e85?

erlo Nov 2, 2012 01:02 AM

Nice numbers!

BlazinVIII Nov 11, 2012 12:21 AM

just outta curiosity, is it possible to daily drive this while shifting at ~3,500 RPM?

I put it in the first week of January 2012, so about 10 months now, probably 9k or 10k miles. No hiccups yet. I'm impressed with Murlo's setup on the new E85 compatible version, standard voltage, and bigger supply line. I'm super happy with my BAP setup though, it was easy to install and has been so reliable I don't really want to mess with it.

Hell yea! This setup is VERY drivable cruising around under 4000 rpm. 5th gear passing at 3000rpm is very capable, and putzing around town is nice and smooth. There's enough airflow from 3000-4000 that you can have nice smooth linear acceleration that doesn't at all feel like a wimply 2.0L. All is fine and well then just hang onto a gear and pin the as you pass 3500rpm and 8500rpm is there before you know it.

Nice numbers Chris. Having seen the BeaterX in person, people cannot appreciate what a sleeper this car is. Sans rear wing, it looks quite unassuming. Joshua said you are using a Kenne Bell Boost a pump. Are you using this in conjunction with the Walbro 400?
