Evo X MR 450hp/356ft-lb Stock Block
My build thread is linked in my signature below.
I am calling this my final results, because I don't dare go any further on the stock block with factory SST. The spool is ACTUALLY as fast as stock, that's the crazy part. I bought the car new in 2012 by trading in my Z06. I bought an MR to deal with city stop/go and kids in the back seat, and as a MENTAL block to prevent me from going too crazy on mods. At the time the SST was thought to not be able to handle power. Well you can see that MENTAL block was overcome. E85 (sensor reading E80) FIC 1200's Walbro 255 @9volts pumps fuel to a custom 2 liter surge tank DW350il pulls from the surge tank and pumps to the OEM fuel rail Custom built solid state pump voltage controller controlled by factory ECU (just like stock!) MAP cast stainless exhaust manifold AMS cast stainless downpipe SS Testpipe, Vibrant resonator, Magnaflow CB CP-E intercooler (often ignored; this guy is massive and made in the USA) Cobb Accessport <----- :drink: 20G 7+7 compressor with 9 blade STS TD05H turbine (MHI center section), TurboSmart actuator Self tuned. The rest of the parts & mods are less important for power. Red line is a 3rd gear pull and Blue was a 4th gear pull. They were done back to back, and obviously the higher gear causes more torque and quicker spool. Stock was 220hp. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...56db4ec679.png |
20 psi at 3000rpm and 450hp to the wheels @7254 rpm and over 300 views with zero comments !?

A lot of those view are probably bots. This website resets it's visitor record almost daily even though it's pretty much dead...
Good results though. Stock trans should remain fairly happy there. |
Impressive power band !!! By the way any cooling upgrades done on the transmission? |
|
Very nice usable power! Any reasons why you chose to go with a surge tank on this build? Seems a bit overkill for daily driver duties lol.
|
I'm sure you know the stock tank is a ticking time bomb for thirsty (e85) cars.
Surge tank is for track duties. I used to do HPDE a lot when I lived near Watkins Glenn. Now I am closer to Palmer and am looking at getting back into it. Also, it's nice to run the tank SUPER LOW for 1/4 drag racing which I do now and then... |
Any EvoX running E85 on a road course needs a surge tank..

Still stock clutches? Nice set up!

I keep up with maintenance of the fluid, and use an external mounted massive & high flowing 15 micron filter (covered in my build thread). Also notice I am limiting my peak torque to keep the clutch pack happy. |
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...40a9a3289.jpeg I built a similar turbo for my brothers evo 8 a while back. Very potent combo, on 92 octane and 27psi peak it put down 375whp in virtual dyno in dynojet mode. |
