For those of you upgrading you Head UNit from Fosgate:

Were you able to preserve the subwoofer in trunk...i.e., are you still able to channel bass to that speaker? or do I basically have to upgrade my subwoofer

As of right now my sub does not work. Apparently soundgate is working on something like their MITSRCVR for the IX with the infinity sound system for the X w/ the fosgate.

You basically have to upgrade your AMP.
the sub will work find if you rewire it with a new amp,
There isnt a way to turn on the factory amp yet.
Remote oem amp turn on is control by the car's CANbus system.
