Making the song title and artist name show!

A while ago I saw someone posting a method as to how they can burn a MP3 cd from itune so the titles and artist would show up on their MMCS. I have searched for a long while but still couldn't find it! Much appreciated if someone can help me out!

It will only read original style CDs in the orginal disc order. it uses the CCDB data to look up the cd title and artist. if you make your own CD it will not read the info. you can go into the nav unit and change names and make names for songs all all is not lost. the best way may be the DVD with MP3s but i havent see it work yet

Wait... by that do you mean you can manually enter song information? Because that's good enough.

Depending which program you use to burn a cd, you just make sure you use the option to keep title and artist info. Nero7 does it automatically, and cd creator has an option, and itunes has an option as well. Not sure about any other software.

When burning a CD using iTunes be sure to burn it in audio format rather then mp3 format.

Using audio format won't allow you to put as many songs on one cd, but it will allow you to then transfer the songs from the burned CD onto the music server built into the car. However, remember you might have to manually add the song titles once they burn into the music server because a lot of the new songs will show as No Title because the CDDB database hasn't been updated.

when you burn your audio cd in itunes make sure to check the "Include cd text"

don't flame me for posting links to other forum. More detail can be found here:

MMCS will read id3 tags, so you can burn an mp3 CD and it will definitely show the song titles.

I have an mp3 CD in my MMCS right now, and all the titles show up fine.

I am not sure why iTunes is not burning the id3 tags for you. Get a proper CD burning app like Nero (Windows) or Toast (Mac) and burn your mp3s directly to CD.

Even with the built in burning program that comes with window media player when you burn mp3 (data) cd's it shows the artist name and song title for every track

I too have had no luck with capuring titles. I've tried the iTunes (set to audio/include CD text) and I have tried Roxio "Toast". Both have failed?

I dont think these guys understand. we would like to burn a disc that can be copied to the Harddrive , the disc read and play fine , but if you let it copy the songs to the Harddrive, it just puts a few letters in . I have used several programs listed here and others without luck. if you are able to get the NaV system to add songs to your harddrive then list how your are doing it. we can all get the MP3 and Audio disc to play songs with titles .

What format cd's are you using. make sure they are CD-R as that is the most standard format. If you are using something else then try that, if that doesn't help and you follow the guides that i posted links too then I really have no further suggestions... sorry

But seriously, look at the guide i wrote, it works fine for me.

+1. I think I'm going to try to upload the songs from an MP3 cd to the MMCS. We'll see how it goes.
