I have recently purchased a new Evo X MR from Japan, but the MMCS Audio System and GPS is all in Japanese.

Does anyone know how I can convert the system to provide English menus and US radio wavelengths.

I presume this will require downloading into the unit USA software - possibly from a CD, but where can this be obtained ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

 

well the cd can be purchased from the dealership for about $150.00 CAN But not sure if it will change the language and all. I know it uptades the maps and some firmware stuff, but i could replace your existing language.

 

Is there anyway to get a free update on just the maps? I bought a brand new car and the copyright is dated 2006....

 

unfortunately its not as easy as inserting a US version cd to change the japanese language. i believe you have to change the entire hard drive as well, dont quote me on that though.

what i do know for a fact is someone bought a japanese version NAV here and couldnt get it to work.

I jus bought a 2009 Mitsubishi Glant Foetus from Japan and it's a 2.0 mivic tiptronic with steering control and mmcs. The car is awesome with the exception of the Japanese on the MMCS. I'm from the Caribbean island, Trinidad. I am trying all how to get the language changed to English but not luck and I came accross your post. Can you assist me with getting the language changed? If so let me know what info you need.

PS: I don't care much for the bago itself. Jus want to have the English cause the MMCS does alone of displays and scans such as error codes etc.
