How to change out interior lights near ash tray and cig lighter?

Has anybody tried this? I'm talking about the interior lights that are located below the a/c switches and near the ashtray and cig lighter

I changed mine to some 1W cool white LED's. I actually just electrical taped over the factory amber lights. Can't find any pics right now, sorry.

They are EXTREMELY tiny LEDs (.25MM ultra-thin) soldered directly to the board.

If you know someone very skilled at soldering, easy!

If you don't..well, good luck.

I tried the same thing.. saw this.. and promptly put the assembly back into the dash sadly.

yup you have to remove all the panels, then un solder the one ones off and solder the new ones on, it will take forever but well worth it if its done right!

Or just cover up the amber ones that are in there, and put your own LED's in. But yeah, the factory ones are soldered in, not really removable.

use the insert link instead of copy and paste, the spam filter caught your post.
