Installed my Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT

Installed this a few weeks ago. Here are some pictures.

Went simple for now and installed the Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT, Metra MITO-02, and Scosche Dash kit.

Install was fairly straight forward.

Have some focal 165 k2 components that I might put in when I ever get free time.
Also looking to put a JL W3 10 in sometime later.

Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT and Scosche Dash Kit

Metra MITO-02

Before

After

Fitment on my piece was pretty good. Only part I had to dremel was the center opening of the double din. Had extra tabs sticking out from the plastic mold.

DVD playing

Home Menu

Navi wanders when the car is not cranked on. I assume because of the way this unit is grounded for bypass. Does other people have the same issue?

HD Radio Playing

Mounted the BT Mic here but moved it to the OEM Mic location later because the range wasn't good here.

Looks good. Personally I would mount the A/F gauge and EVC somewhere out of plain sight. A bit much going on there with the NAVI installed. Awesome unit BTW.

Awesome unit, and your dash kit fitment is PERFECT. I am thinking I will put a new head of some sort in mine eventually, but not sure what yet. Probably a good year away, as performance parts come first

Install looks good, but I'm coming off of a bad Pioneer experience and I'll never go back. Damn thing whines worse than all previous girlfriends combined.

Yeah I thought about moving it down but this spot seems the best and easiest for me to monitor while driving.

guess I got lucky with my three pioneer sets. Had alpine before also but pioneer gets my pick in the looks department. Isn't the whine a ground issue or the way you routed the lines?

Looks very good! The Navi dash kit is a cheap alternative to the OEM version. Did you run into any issues with the Scosche kit?

My issues were with the PICO fuse and the RCA's not having the proper internal ground. If you do a google search on Pioneer Whine you'll see it's a prevalent issue. I'll never buy another one. But, glad they're suiting you well and great job on the install.

I get the nav wander on my 120 too. How well is your mic picking up in the OEM location? I have mine there and when I'm driving no one can hear me...

Nothing major, but I wasn't expecting perfection with a cheap dash kit.

o wow, i guess it is a hit or miss. Glad my unit has no issue then. I'll need to read up on your issue in a bit.

well i didnt actually stick it in there. I taped it outside with the included mount where the oem location is and pointed it towards my face. everyone i called hasn't complained and didnt even know i was on BT. I was afraid the exhaust and road noise would make the BT useless but it's been working great so far.

I had the nav wander when I first had my Z110 installed. Turns out that the speed sensor wire was hooked up to the incorrect wire, and when the car was turned off it was receiving errent pulses. Might want to check that. After it was fixed, never had another issue with it.
