Evoscan and Wideband

I will find this out as soon as my USB hub comes in but wanted to ask question :

I have a Dell mini 9 running evoscan via USB to the ODBII. I just made a Serial cable from the AEM Wideband going to a Keyspan USB/DB9 converter. I don't want to run another USB cable going to the laptop and was planning on just a hub.

Does the hub have to be powered?

The reason I ask is I tapped almost every freaking power source for my gauges and devices although I could probably double tap the 12V Cigarette source.

Any help from someone who has similar set up would be appreciated.

Thanks
