Rockford Auto Leveling

I know this has been talked about in a bunch of threads and everyone is just removing the Factory amp and replacing it with aftermarket. The factory sub sounds pretty good before it auto tones down. There HAS to be a way to disable the auto leveling on the factory Rockford (SSS) amp? Come on guys where are all the electronic engineers out there!!??

Anyone tried this?? I don't have my X with me but I'm curious now to see if it works.

It's the knob on the right (the one that controls the folders for mp3 cd's), with the radio powered off push the knob down for a few seconds and an option for svc or scv will pop up. The options are yes or no, and this controls the speed sensitive volume control.

Now that I read this again I think you misunderstood me. I'm talking about the sub when you crank the sterio up right away the sub bumps pretty good and then just fades away to a lower volume. This has nothing to do with the road noise audio control.

^^ ya, you're right.. I thought you were talking about the overall volume of the stereo system - not just the sub.

But it still wouldn't hurt to try turning off the auto-volume leveler, and see if that helps.. seems like an easy enough thing to do.

Yeah I noticed this as well. I'd like to know if there's a fix as well, but I have a hunch it's a limitation of the power of the amp. I could be wrong though.

It's not the lack of power. In fact I think the factory sub sounds pretty good untill it auto volumes down. The only reason Mitsu did is so they don't have all these people cranking there stereo's and bringing there cars back with blown speakers. But if you know anything about stereo's/speakers you know there limits. But I guess I can't speak for everyone
