2012 Evo X Nav traffic

Can anyone with the Navigation that shows the red and yellow lines for traffic tell me how accurate theirs is? Mine is way off sometimes and if its off sometimes it really makes it 100% useless as far as traffic goes because you cant beleive it when it tells you to use alternate routes.

The other night I was taking my friend to LAX at about midnight. It showed the freeway on both sides RED for miles and miles and there were 10 cars on the whole freeway all doing like 70MPH! Other times I am sitting it traffic on the 405 for a half hour and it shows no traffic. Just curiouse if it's the Nav, or the place the nav gets it's info? Maybe there is an update for it.

From the times I've checked my MMCS, it's been fairly accurate with traffic conditions for where I live here in Pennsylvania. It is FM based traffic so I'd have to assume it has to do with the station that is providing the information. If I remember correctly, it is possible to manually enter a different station to retrieve traffic information from within the service menus.

i have it and i have to agree there has been times when it acts like its broken, but i only encounted that problem 2-3 times. if yours is constant then check it out at the dealer or change the station like the guy above said

Thanks for the info. It doesn’t need to be off many times for me not to trust it. LOL So it tells me a route with less traffic but a little out of the way and I second guess it. If there is no traffic then I am going out of my way for nothing, if there is then I am stuck it in. But I will look into changing stations. I always thought it got its info off the satellites.
