Aftermarket Alarm/Remote Start on Fast Key Fob

Looking for a way to have an aftermarket alarm and remote start system be integrated into the Fast Key so I only have to carry around one remote. I have a 2012 MR. I've searched, and it appears that after all these years, no one has been able to figure it out yet. That's kind of crazy considering all the innovators that are on these boards.....

The "other" EVO forum has a thread that states that they were able to do exactly this. It's a little dated (from 2010). This is copied from that thread

"Product used:
Viper 5902
Xpresskit DB-ALL interface
DEI 530T window module x2

The new xpresskit dball interface retains the use of his fast key. The button on the door will now unlock and lock but also arm and disarm the viper. Furthermore, added a diode isolated input to the vipers remote start input activation wire from the vehicles lock wire, allowing him to triple press the lock button on his fast key and remote start the vehicle. In a sense negating the need for the viper key fob except for the fact that we have used the aux outputs on the viper also. "

I have the Clifford 5704, remote start, and Xpresskit DBALL. I can control everything with the Fast Key. My installer spoke with the DEI tech, and he said it was doable. Well, we got it to work. Remote start with the Fast Key and full integration of the Fast Key. Only 1 remote needed. BUT....

When you remote start the car, the doors lock. The ONLY way to unlock is to take the physical spare key out of the Fast Key and open the door with the key (old school). There was no other way around it, so I had him revert everything back to normal and now I need to have two remotes. My installer said that he did (and same thing that the DEI tech stated) basically what the post said about adding a diode.

I won't get my hopes up since it's been around a while now, but just wondering if anyone might have a suggestion...

Isn't the fastkey system is controlled by the ECU. In my opinion, In theory OpenECU should be able to add remote start with hex code. I'm really surprised no one has done this yet. That and being able to disable the TPMS by simple hex code change.

I haven't tried, but that may work. I'll hit up my installer to see about BLADE and any other iDatalink product.

Yup, now that I put in an aftermarket stereo/nav system and a custom gauge pod coming sometime in the future, figured I'd need an alarm. Still trying to figure this out. It's not too bad carrying around two remotes so far since I don't have a ton of keys to carry around (actually, my keychain has no keys....just the remotes), but it'll be nice to just deal with the one OEM fob.

Try contacting a compustar vendor in your area. The guy who installed it on my base gar said that he could still do it if it had a fast key. It would just take longer and cost more.

radar detector remote is great. works like a charm. Just trying to lick this remote start OEM fob remote thing. I'm gonna take the suggestion from the post above...try to find out who uses iDatalink / BLADE units to see if they can do anything.

I have a 2012 MR and only 1 key - always on the lookout for more info regarding the subject.

Would like to get a Viper Smart Start but do not want it bad enough to buy a 2nd key for $$$ and the Viper as well.

The A/D/S Blade serves as the second key, and it's only $50 bucks {thumb up}

here this is what we are talking about

Hello to all,

I would use the following set up by Firstech (Compustar)

FT-7000AS-CONT (New www.compustar.com/7 )
Blade-AL (http://images2.idatalink.com/corpora...N_20140311.pdf)
FT-EZGO (http://www.compustar.com/remote-starters/FT-EZGO.php)
DR-3100 (www.dronemobile.com)

The 7000AS is alarm starter brain
The Blade AL is my all in one CANbus + Transponder bypass
EZGO will be my RFID system (size of a nickle)
Drone Mobile is the telematics system since i don't want an additional remote

This set up will allow me to start the car from my OEM remote (lock x 3) or with my Drone Mobile (internet or app).

Since the Fast Key button and the OEM remote goes to sleep when the car is started, the EZGO will be a quick solution for unlocking my car. This is a proximity unlock feature. I will walk up towards the car and it will unlock for me before i reach the handle. The system has an optional automatic locking feature as well but i will not turn that on since it's a manual transmission and the car will automatically lock when setting "reservation mode" (ready mode).

I will get this done here shortly.

Is there any questions? I can answer them all.

Thanks for the suggestions, but at this point, I already have the Clifford 5704 and remote start with DBALL installed. It wouldn't be too cost-effective for me now to go the Compustar route.

I thought one of the main problems with aftermarket remote start + FASTkey is when you remote start, then get in the car and put your foot on the brake pedal to move the gear lever into reverse/drive - it kills the engine. With an aftermarket remote starter you would have to start the engine twice (altogether) every time you remote started.
