2015 non-navi touchscreen into a 2013 GSR

I searched the forums & google, but couldn't find any info related to my problem....so I thought I would check here before I bug the dealership.

I bought a non-navi touchscreen from a guy locally & was hoping to put it into my 2013 GSR. I tested it out last night & everything works just fine (even steering wheel controls), except I have no Bluetooth option on the radio. I checked with the previous owner & he said he had it when it was installed in his 2015.

Does anyone know of a way to get the Bluetooth to work? Do I need an updated BT Module?

Any help would be much appreciated, as BT is a deal-breaker.

Thanks!

i am surprised it all plugged in as from what i have gathered,, the 2014 and 2015 have different connectors on the back.

there are several threads here wherein 2008-2013 owners have given up using 2014 - 2015 nav and non navi radios.

if all of it plugs in then i would say that would be your next option to get a 2014 or 2015 BT module.

Yeah what beetle said......I thought about doing the same as they are overly abundant online and cheaper but just a pain to make work.

I have the part number off the back of the unit....I was going to call the dealership this morning & see if I can find out what year it came from, because the plugs were exactly the same as my standard radio back.

Like I said, everything worked just fine (I obviously need the install bracket), but the Bluetooth.....so I guess I will call the dealership and see if they can be of any help at all.

The bluetooth is a separated device located behind the glove compartment that connects to the rf head unit ...

Yes.....I had Bluetooth capabilities with my stock radio before I tried hooking up the touch screen radio. My question was if my Bluetooth module from a 2013 needs to be from a 2015 to make it work?

then i would say yes, you need to get a BT module from a 2014 or 2015.

this is still my first time hearing that it all plugged in.

This is how the back of the head unit looks (the same exact connectors I had on my standard radio - minus the grey connectors, of course).....am I off, and it's not really from a 2015?

i have not seen the back of a 2014 nor 2015 but those look like its from a 2008-2013 to me.

you confirmed the front looks like the picture i attached so its moot at this point.

Yeah...it seems like it might be a lost cause since the dealership wants over $300 for a 2015 BT module....perhaps I will see if I can find a used 2014 one online.

The photo you posted above was from what year of Evo? (just curious)
