Defi boost gauge question
Defi boost gauge question
I have an Defi Advance CR metric boost gauge that goes up to 2 bar. I'm maxing out at 31 PSI (2.14 bar) which is above the max of the gauge. Every time that happens the gauge shuts down and the warning light blinks. When I restart the car it goes back to normal. But for the rest of my drive it's kind of annoying to have this blinking light and non-functioning gauge. Is there a way to stop it from going into this "mode"?
I'm guessing that the sensor goes out of range when you exceed its rating and the gauge/controller detects this as a fault. You could wire up a normally closed momentary contact switch to the power or ground of the gauge if you want to be able to reset it more easily. Otherwise, I'm going to say it's new gauge time.
The thought did cross my mind but the gauge plugs into a control unit so I don't want to cut wires. I've been reading the manual and I'm planning on playing with the settings this weekend as it's supposed to get a little warmer here on Saturday.
Another question, the manual says that with the car idling, the boost gauge should be at 0. Mine shows a vacuum. Is that correct?

On our 4G63's we should always produce a vacuum at idle (minimum spec is 15). If you have cams, there is less vacuum but the gauge should always show vacuum at idle. I would imagine the 4B11 has a similar vacuum standard

Awesome, thanks. And yes, I have Kelford 214b cams.
