What Headlights required for HID Converted GSR?
Hey guys, maybe a newb question, but electrical stuff is not my strong suit. I have a 2012 non-HID GSR. The previous owner swapped out the low beams for HIDs with the ballast converter (HID System XE 1688), but had them in the stock Halogen housing.
So I need to replace my headlights after I decided to smash my passenger side one, and am looking into some aftermarket headlights that have projectors (Spyder or vland, undecided at this point). So my question is - Do I need to buy headlights for Non-HID, or should I buy HID type since I already have the converter? Thanks in advance. |
You need the non hid headlights so it'll plug into the factory harness.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's sort of what I was figuring, but again - not my strong suit.
Non-HID it is. |
Do not use HID's in halogen housing, they're illegal and they blind oncoming traffic. Just buy a set of oem hid headlights or depos and retrofit them with evox-r projectors.

The only aftermarket housing that I would suggest you use would be the factory replica Depo, you can find them on Ebay and Amazon for $300. The projector in them is not to bad, almost like stock.
