Anyone else notice that the 4B11 can take more timing on pump gas than the 4G63 and not detonate?

I have also noticed this. As a matter of fact I was just going to post up an excel sheet I made of that lol.

I need to get all my info up. I will do it today before I go home. I have learned some really great things about these cars and I would like to share with everyone.

Stay tuned for a new thread with all my findings, but for now more discussion.

Sorry for the thread jack Noize.

Mitch

No sweat. I talked to Andrew about it. He believes since its a square motor with shorter dwell time, it can take more timing. This also explains the slightly less torque than the IX, but the tendency to hold power great up top. Man, I can't wait until we can move this rev limiter up.

I am running 20 degrees up top by the way.

Also the head has a more efficient combustion chamber. I run up to 36 degrees on my Honder.
