Sean knows his stuff... I wish I had 1/8th of his tuning knowledge. He's a true master of his trade. Great work and congratulations on the awesome tune

Jack of all trades master of none, the damn Ecutek SW is pretty good, it helps ALOT having the base maps to start with.

I'm not really familiar with all this stuff regarding the ECUTek tune, but on other threads this tune is supposed to increase MPG, right? If you get a tuner to make it so that it also increases HP like here, do the MPG decrease, stay the same as before, or increase?

It depends on how you drive really. With a good conservative tune, you could get more mpg.

That's a nice power curve for such a small turbo. Full torque by 4k, and horsepower is steady at 7.7k.

Sean is a great tuner. He had my IX destroying everything it came across. Keep up the good work Sean.

Im looking at the graph and wondering. Shouldn't the curve hold strong to redline and not taper off like that? It's almost as if ur losing power up top where you kinda need it..

Anyone know of any good tuners using ECUTek to tune the EVO X in Central Florida? I am also willing to go anywhere within 4 hours of Orlando to see a good tuner using ECUTek.

Sean, Were the gains in whp simply the result of increasing the boost from OEM 21psi to 24psi assuming 1psi=~10whp? That is, because of running so rich, can one simply increase the boost at the upper end which would result in higher and better A/F with associated increase in hp and torque?

No the gains aren't simply from upping the boost.
Mivec mapping, ignition timing remapping, af tailoring..........all play into the equation.
The car actually goes richer if you just turn the boost up (and you can see why based on where it moves to on the fuel map).
