Help Fix For P1320!!!??

I am like five seconds from chuckin' my car in a scrap heap. No joke!! I took it to the guys at AMS, they did a wonderful job with the flash btw. As soon as I got in the car I could feel the difference. But now, my car idles at 2000 grand after I give it some gas. I don't know what to do. I wonder is there a way to correct this idle code that constantly comes up. Please tell me I didn't by a lemon... Anybody have this problem or know a fix? The frickin ASC light came on and the car started to bog down...wtf..I idk.

Go back to AMS and have them check idle. The increased idle is probably the result of the tune following your drive home and the "learning" piece of the ECU made adjustments to same. I feel confident that AMS can fix this elevated idle since it is probably a secondary effect of the tune.

There is a flash from Mitsu to fix the 1320 code and the idle. Not sure how it'll work with an aftermarket flash. Maybe go back to base map, take it to the dealer to fix then re-flash again?

The code is for something related to boost limit. When AMS reflashed your car, did they increased the boost limit map? Your car is in limp mode, that's why it doesn't rev past 2,000. No big deal. Happened to all the guys with MBC.

He's not saying he can't get past 2,000 rpms. He's saying that his idle is high. I have this problem too every once in a while. I don't know what to tell you, but you're not alone. I'm having Works take a look at mine in a couple weeks.

Usually it's a P1235 code that indicates overboost for partial throttle. The car then goes into limp mode and limits boost to 12 psi and sets idle at 2000 rpms. The cell will stay on for a couple of days but if you simply cut the car off and then cut it back on it should be fine. Make sure that they turned boost correction back on after they tuned your boost tables while on the dyno.

Im about ready to chuck my car in the river. I have a mail in tune with a mbc and I set it on 22.5psi my cel light comes on in 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th gear since the flash. sometimes it goes into limp mode and sometimes just the high rpm. I cant even drive 2 blocks without it coming on. So im not going to drive the car till its fixed.

OK the problem is fixed and the car is pulling like a ****. Chris at AMS was even cool enough to give me a dyno print out. I scan it later but right now the car is making 285.41 whp with 279.58 torque!!! I feel it too!!! AMS is awesome. Thanks for your comments people, good to have input. I was freaking out a little...

You didn't break 300whp? Do you have any other mods?

I don't have any other mods done to the vechile just yet, my baseline whp was 247, I can't recall the torque, I don't have the print out in front of me. The temp outside was 82 degrees. I am running with an AMS twin pipe set up as soon as it comes out. Intercooler and then UICP. Does anyone know if just a regular K&N cone filter can help this car breathe better. Will I be able to feel it if I take off the factory air box. I am going for the CAI, but I just want the cone in the mean time.

I figured it would be wiser to first get the mods and than tune.

Also one last thing I want to mention is that the torque is weird. Every other AMS tune I see the torque gain surpasses the horsepower gain with the exception of yours. Could be the lack of mods or something.

Not a bad gain considering you have no mods at all.. I personally would like to see the graph of the baseline run and the tuned run just to see what you picked up in the middle.

You should be able to pick up a few horses by getting rid of the stock airbox but just remember one thing.. You are tuned now so you should be running alot leaner then stock.. Adding an intake such as a cone filter should aslo lean you out a bit.. It shouldn't put you too lean however I would keep an eye on it just to be safe.. I am sure there is still enough room to add a few small mods. A drop in is another way to go and they have shown similar gains to cone filters.

Which brings me up to the mods you are looking at.. I would say save up for them and get them all at once and then go get your car tuned again to be safe.. It will be cheaper the second time around since you won't have to pay the license fee again.

I have an appointment next month to have them tune my X as well.. Just trying to decide how far I want to mod it before hand.. I have a drop in and catback right now.. Trying to keep it under the radar as much as possible just incase something needs to be taken care of by Mitsu..
