MBC's are easier to setup, however a properly setup EBC does the same and in some cases more. Also EBC's won't spike as bad as MBC's when the weather gets cold, that is the main reason why I went from a Hallman to a Greddy Profec B Spec II. I can lower or raise the boost from inside the car, proved to hold more boost to redline than the Hallman, held spikes in check once the weather got cold and allowed me to have to boost settings to add another layer of safety.

MBC: Hallman
EBC: Greddy Profec B Spec II

I achieved slightly better results with the EBC and the Greddy is easy to work with. I had a better boost curve on my VIII with EBC then IX with MBC.

Apexi AVCR. For the money the best controller by far. Can do boost per gear AND RPM unlike any other in it's price range.

So i am really torn between the Greddy PROFEC B SPEC II or the Apexi AVC-R. They both do the same thing, but i am not sure wheather the price difference in the Apexi is worth it? What do you think?

I have just bought an AEM boost gauge. do you think i should take it back? and just use the Greddy if i get it? I like having the Boost gauge right in front of me though and i was planning on installing the boost controller under the air conditioning and heating knobs. What is the best setup in think situation? How hard are they to install?

HKS EVC 6, you can set the boost according to RPM and throttle position. The EvoX will sometimes give you a CEL with high boost during partial throttle. The HKS EVC 6 can prevent such CELs by limiting the boost at different throttle positions.

The Greddy is not any different than the MBC except for the fact that you can control the boost electronically from inside your car. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it has RPM or throttle position input.

Now throwing a CEL doesn't always happen. I'm sure there are plenty of people that have never seen a CEL with a MBC. It all depends on your driving style and the amount of boost you run.

I believe your right about the rev meter, it doesnt have that option. I'm just trying to justify spending $700+. do you know much about Apexi AVC- R as i'm reading good things?

The AVC-R is nice and the price is pretty good compared to the EVC. The only thing it lacks is the ability to control boost according to throttle position.
