tune causing engine light

hey guys, very new to the car scene, used to drive a 2009 chevrolet cobalt, then realized i made a bad decision and should have gone with an evo, so now i have a 2003 evo 8, got a bunch of fun little bolt ons and stuff, but after i got a tune the engine light comes on and is giving a code saying that the engine is running lean.....the tuner said its because its tuned like that to put more fuel into the engine, so basically its tricking itself. ummm is that a reasonable explaination? how can i fix the sensor or can i? i am not going to bs, i dont know hardly anything, let alone about performance mods and what causes issues.

If you are getting a engine light (CEL) for Cyl too Lean then I would take it back to the tuner. That explanation is incorrect.

Or better yet, just take it to GST, and get it done right.
