Depending on the wideband you bought - they usually hook up to a computer RS-232 (a serial connection). You might have to solder a RS-232 connector on the wire from the wideband.
You can then hook your computer up to the serial port and select the correct COM port to log from.

Nope the gauge will not be inaccurate. Why spend that much money on buying another bung and sensor?? Lol it will most certainly not be easier man. If it does mess it up which mine did not. I would not worry about it. Because you are seeing it on the computer which is where you need it if you are adjusting and tuning.
I would leave it as is. Just buy a serial to usb adapter. Then you plug it in and select the comport that your computer will usually assign randomly. (mine always did) Then you open up the device manager and find the comport its assigned to and select that in evoscan along with the brand you have. Its as easy as pie man.
